A woman in Upstate had her arms amputated after being looted by three dogs while walking down the road, according to her family. Kyleen Waltman, 38, mother of three, was attacked by dogs around 10:30 a.m. Monday in the Honea Path, her sister Shenna Green told WYFF News 4. Green said it happened while Waltman was walking home on Ball Road . . She said a man found Waltman in a ditch that was still being attacked. Green said the man had to pick up a gun and shoot it in the air to get the dogs away from Waltman. Waltman was flown to the hospital. “She did not deserve it. She was a good person. She helped everyone,” Green said. According to Green, the dogs live in the area and there is a ‘Beware of dogs’ sign on the property. A GoFundMe site said Waltman has had both arms amputated up to her shoulder and now she should have her colon removed and now her esophagus may need to be removed. “She has a long way to go and needs medical and financial help. “Every little bit would help a lot, but do not feel obligated to donate. Prayers are what we need at the moment. I will provide updates. Thank you for taking the time to read my sister’s story,” the post read. The Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office said animal control took the dogs into possession. Captain Tripp Crosby said the incident is being investigated by the Abbeville County Sheriff’s Office and the Abbeville County Animal Control.
