LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – A woman who collapsed at the finish line of the Los Angeles Marathon died Tuesday, according to organizers.
Rancho Palos Verde resident Trisha Paddock ran a half marathon in which all participants raised money for one of the race’s official charities. According to marathon results, she was 46, but Los Angeles Fire Chief Erik Scott said she was 44.

According to Scott, the crews encountered Paddock at 6 p.m. 12:10 Sunday. Scott said she had “a medical complaint that escalated to a witness to cardiac arrest.”

“Medical care was quickly provided by over a dozen staff, including LAFD Cycle Teams, and the patient was quickly treated and transported to a local hospital,” he said.
