“I was going to go to Europe and meet Nina,” the 35-year-old athlete said. Additional Tuesday, March 22 at the iHeartRadio Music Awards of his pre-Oscars plan. “And I thought, ‘Hey, I was asked to do this, what do you think?’ And she just said, ‘You have to [go]. ‘ … She says, ‘You have to do it’. ”
The retired athlete is due to present at the 94th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 27, but he will not be alone. White revealed that page Vampire Diary alum, 33, will be in Europe to film a project, he invited his mother as his date.
“She’s so excited. I tried to screen her reaction, but the sound didn’t work. The things she said were incredible,” the California native explained, noting that the duo “hurries to get her dress” ready for the big night.
White and Dobrev, who first connected in February 2020, have been running uninterrupted since the former snowboarder returned from the Beijing Olympics in February. White participated in his fifth and final winter games that month, finishing in fourth place in the halfpipe event.
The triple Olympic gold medalist continued to celebrate his achievements in the sport – and his retirement as a professional snowboarder – the following month.
Dobrev toasted to his girlfriend during the retirement party on March 4, wearing a red wig as a nod to White’s trademark hairstyle. “We celebrate 🐐 and bring 👩🏻🦰 back one last time … # RetirementPartyAt35 😂,” Sick girl actress wrote via Instagram on March 5th.
That Perks of being a bench warmer The actress shared a series of photos from the blowout party with the caption to one: “Bring the floating lures back to celebrate this ‘old guy’ retiring as a 35-year-old.”
The X Games champion then traveled to Costa Rica the following week for a much-needed vacation. That Degrassi alum came with him for the trip, which included relaxing by the pool, horseback riding and cocktails with friends.
White started the escape by sharing his new life motto, inspired by Lions King. “That means no worries … 🦁 #pensioned,” the athlete wrote via Instagram on March 9, while wearing a shirt that read “Hakuna Matata.”
Dobrev commented on the post with the next line in the iconic song from the 1994 Disney movie, writing, “For the rest of your days.”
The two documented their adventures via social media, including giving fans a glimpse of them as they climb trees in the rainforest, kiss on the beach and enjoy the spa.
