Two men will be transferred to Darwin with life-threatening injuries after the light aircraft they were traveling in crashed in the far north of western Australia.
The men ran into trouble near East Kimberley Regional Airport before 1 p.m. 9 today.
It is understood that the plane was on fire with thick black smoke coming from the plane and the men were trapped in the wreckage.
Volunteer firefighters, St John Ambulance and police attended instead.
The incident was reported by a member of the public fishing at nearby Bandicoot Point after watching the plane crash between the river and the airport.
