With “Over All Over Again” and “New Old Trucks” feat. Dierks Bentley, the James Barker Band has driven an incredible history over the past six years, largely on its own, from playing opening venues in small Ontario bars to to bring together hundreds of millions of global streams and host some of Canada’s largest country music festivals. Now, with new music on the way, the four pieces continue their meteoric rise in Nashville.
Consisting of James Barker (lead vocals / guitar), Taylor Abram (guitar / background vocals), Connor Stephen (drums) and Bobby Martin (bass), the members of the James Barker Band grew up within an hour of each other in rural towns around Toronto. In 2017, they sent their single “Chills” straight to the top of Billboard’s Canadian Hot 100 chart. The optimistic anthem also achieved Platinum status along with other songs from their inaugural LP Game On, which earned them several national awards. In addition, these best friends have already collected nine GOLD-certified and two PLATINUM-certified tracks, which include “Over All Over Again”, “There’s A Drink For That”, “Just Sayin ‘,” “It’s Working”, “Lawn” Chair Lazy “,” Good Together “,” Summertime “,” Chills “(PLATINUM) and” Keep It Simple “(PLATINUM) as well as a GOLD-certified EP (Game On). To start 2022, JBB has just landed their fourth # 1 on Canadian Country Radio (“New Old Trucks”) and cemented them as the Canadian country group with the most # 1s in the BDS / Mediabase era.
