The Block fans accuse Tom and Sarah-Jane of receiving ‘special treatment’ after Omar and Oz were reprimanded for the same rule-breaking
Fans of The Block have been left divided after Tom and Sarah-Jane received ‘special treatment’ despite ignoring competition rules.
The married couple were shown using power tools during a public holiday, which is against the rules of the Channel Nine renovation series.
However, they weren’t called out for the breach, despite Foreman Keith previously reprimanding Oz and Omar for a similar violation.

Viewers were left reeling over the ‘double standard’, with one writing: ‘Rules only apply if it makes enough drama.’
Another wrote: ‘As was clearly established earlier in the season with Keith’s conversation with O+O, power tools are anything that requires power, except drills.’
‘They are excluded from such rules because of the special Tom & SJ clause that has been used multiple times this year by Scotty, Keith, Dan and all the judges’.
Another complained that Omar and Oz got ‘a lot of backlash’ while Tom and Sarah-Jane didn’t face any repercussions.

‘Why aren’t Tom and Sarah-Jane disqualified?’ one fan asked.
It comes after Sarah-Jane was caught out in an embarrassing moment when Scott Cam confronted her over her suspicious spending.
She had previously called for a site-wide financial audit after Omar and Oz were able to secure a baby grand piano at an incredible discount.

Scott, 59, obliged her request for an audit only to discover halfway through that Sarah-Jane had been misusing her Channel Nine credit card to buy cigarettes.
As Scott and co-host Shelley Craft did their walk around the houses, they stopped by House 1 for a chat about what he’d found in the audit Sarah-Jane and Tom requested.
All the teams agreed to a site-wide financial inspection, and to everyone’s surprise, Omar and Oz emerged unscathed.

In an ironic twist, the one team to come unstuck was Tom and Sarah-Jane.
The investigation found Sarah-Jane, 30, had used her credit card to buy cigarettes.
The team’s credit cards are only supposed to be used to buy supplies, furniture and other items essential to their builds.
She later agreed to pay back the money, and it’s believed the network is cracking down on credit card use for future seasons.
