Still her biggest fan? Shawn Mendes subtly showed his support for his ex-girlfriend Camila’s hair when she shared some pictures from a sexy photoshoot.
The “Stitches” singer, 23, “liked” a picture posted by Cabello, 25, on Tuesday, March 22, on Instagram, where she posed in a cut-out dress and rocked a shaggy, mullet hairstyle. In addition to Mendes, several other celebrities praised the “Bam Bam” singer in the comments, including Lil Nas Xwho posted a series of flame emojis, and Diplo, who commented with a simple heart-eye emoji. Cabello also shared another photo from the recording, this time wearing only a coat, underwear and fishnet tights.
After becoming friends while opening up Austin Mahomes on tour in 2014, Mendes and Cabello began dating in the summer of 2019 after releasing the duet “Señorita”. Although they eventually resigned in November 2021, both musicians have continued to publicly support each other, noting in their joint statement of breakup that “we started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends.”
In November 2021, a source close to the couple told Us Weekly solely that they “still have a wealth of love and respect for each other”, but decided that it would be best to take a break. “Their friends are all pretty much of the opinion that it was a classic case of too much, too soon,” the insider added. “The attention was overwhelming and it annoyed them, especially Shawn, to keep getting grilled over how serious they were and whether they would get engaged or not.”

Because we both started so young, it’s like we’re really learning to be healthy adults.”
She continued: “My priorities have fluctuated and my focus has changed throughout my life. The years we dated… even as I wrote this album, [Familia], and even now, I guess my focus is really on, ‘How can I be a well-rounded person?’ “For me, I love Shawn, and I feel like there is literally nothing but love for him.”
Mendes, meanwhile, reflected on the split in the lyrics to his song, “I’ll Be Okay,” which he released in December 2021. “If You Tell Me You Travel / I Will Make It Easy / It Will Be Okay,” sings the Grammy nominee on the track. “If we can not stop the bleeding / We do not have to fix it / We do not have to stay / I will love you both ways.”
“A lot of things[s] to [are] also resonance in the lyrics for me is like, ‘Oh f – k’, you are not aware … When you kind of break up with someone and you think it’s right. You are not aware of all the s – t that comes after that, ”he explained about the song’s inspiration in March 2022.“ I think it’s the reality, that kind of hit. It’s like, ‘Oh, I’m alone now.’ Now I feel like I’m finally alone and I hate it, you know? That’s my reality. ”
