Tensions escalated when Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, whom he married in 2018, announced they would permanently resign as working royals early last year. In addition, the announcement of the Duke of Sussex’s book has left room for speculation about its contents and the effects it will have on the royal family.
In a speech with ToDiForDaily’s podcast host Kinsey Schofield, Royal Commentator Richard Fitzwilliams discussed the ongoing memoir and the relationship between Harry and the family.
Sir. Fitzwilliams said: “His intention to write a memoir, I think it has made it very very difficult for members of the royal family to talk to him.
“Maybe get Gayle King or Omid Scobie to repeat it.”
He continued: “When you look forward, you may find that the conversation is not exactly what you said”.

It is speculated that the book will discuss the time frame around the death of his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. This has led to questions about the amount of information that the book will reveal and whether it will reveal anything concerning Camilla.
Sir. Fitzwilliams said: “How much it’s about Camilla, Parker-Bowles, as she was then, we’ll have to wait and see”.
Since Prince Harry and Meghan announced their departure from the company, a number of events have sparked revolt in the royal family, most notably the couple’s two-hour CBS interview, which hosted the American media personality Oprah in 2021.

A relationship that has been particularly influenced within the royal institution is between Prince Harry and his brother Prince William.
In a speech to LBC, Royal Correspondent Peter Hunt said: “The rift is deep.”
Hunt continued: “It started when Harry started to get restless and has really struggled with his position in the institution”
“It was accelerated and ignited by his marriage to Meghan and how she fit into the family and what she wanted out of the family”
