Man Charged After SUV Stolen and Damaged in Downtown St. John’s

A 37-year-old man has been charged in connection to a vehicle stolen from the capital city’s downtown Saturday night.

Police say the vehicle, a newer-model SUV, was reported stolen just after 11:00.

The vehicle was later found in the downtown with minor damage.

The accused was arrested on charges of possession of stolen property, fraud, breach of curfew, and resisting arrest. As well, he was charged with similar breaches for two other separate incidents.

He will appear in court today.
