London Trafalgar Square peace march and guard for Ukraine

London must host a peace march and guard to show solidarity with the people of Ukraine, Sadiq Khan has announced.

The event takes place on Saturday, March 26 and begins with a march from Park Lane at. 14.00 to Trafalgar Square, where there will be a guard until kl. 17.00.

Yoko Ono’s “IMAGINE PEACE” message will appear on Piccadilly Lights as Sadiq Khan urges Londoners to “stand with the people of Ukraine”.

Khan said: “In the last few weeks, the world has been in awe of the strength and courage that the Ukrainian people have shown in the face of this unprovoked and shocking attack on their country.

“London has a long history of providing refuge for those fleeing the conflict, and we are ready to receive Ukrainian refugees.

“I want to give everyone who wants to show their solidarity a chance to stand with the people of Ukraine. Together, we will march and unite in Trafalgar Square to show our support for our friends in Ukraine and call for a speedy end to this atrocity. ”

Anyone wishing to donate to support the people of Ukraine will be encouraged to donate to the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (UNCERF).
