Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon, who previously DJed at a crowded mid-pandemic Chainsmokers concert in the Hamptons, returns to the stage to DJ at Lollapalooza 2022. Yes, Solomon, as CNN explains “moonlights as an electronic dance DJ, when he is not operating one of the largest investment banks in the world, “will DJ at the Chicago Music Festival in July. Solomon – it’s” D-sun “for you – regularly DJs at clubs in Miami and New York.
“[I] fell into it a bit as a hobby and now I do it just for fun, ”Solomon said on a Goldman Sachs podcast in 2017. The CEO also tends to DJ four to six events each year where the profits go to charity. Prior to the Chainsmokers concert in 2020, D-sol DJed an Amazon event in 2019, and recently he DJed a 2022 Sports Illustrated Super Bowl party.
The Chainsmokers event memorably led to an investigation by the New York Department of Health into what then-Governor Andrew Cuomo called “gross violations of social distancing.” A spokesman for Goldman Sachs said at the time: “The majority of the audience seemed to follow the rules, but [Solomon is] worried that some were violating them and putting themselves and others in danger. ”
