Flume announces Australia tour 2022

Aussie DJ Flume has announced his first Down Under tour since 2019.

Prepare yourselves, because Australian DJ Flume just announced that his ‘Palaces’ World Tour will be heading Down Under later this year.

It’s the first time this homegrown artist will have performed in Australia since 2019 – a great sign that the world is slowly getting back to normal.

Flume (born Harley Streten) will be joined in November and December by some pretty epic musical guests – from the US there will be rapper Channel Tres, and singers Caroline Polachek and Toro y Moi, as well as fellow Aussies Vera Blue and May-a.

If Flume’s 2022 Coachella performance is anything to go by, the tour will be something of a treat. As a festival first, he livestreamed using augmented reality (AR) to make millions of online viewers feel like they were really there – and the view was good.

The announcement comes in the lead-up to his upcoming 13-track new album Palaces, which you can get your hot little hands on come May 20.

There will be shows in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Hobart, with tickets going on sale on Thursday, May 26 at 10am local time, via Frontier Touring. You can sign up for early access on May 25, though.

Back in 2019, Flume famously – and controversially – mimed a sex act on his girlfriend while on stage at Burning Man.

The incident happened when a woman in the crowd held up a sign saying: “Does Flume even eat a**?”

What Flume did next quickly went viral, and in the wake of that, the musician posted on Instagram a cheeky photo of himself eating a peach with the caption: “It was a joke (sorry Mum).”

The post earned comments from many celebrities, including Paris Hilton who posted a peach and a laughing face emoji, while DJ Alison Wonderland simply wrote: “Iconic.”

Will he do anything as “iconic” this time around? Here’s hoping. Maybe the world is ready this time.
