Dolly Parton knows who she wants to play her in a biopic

“We were talking about making my Broadway musical, and we were really, really far ahead of it, and then it hit Covid, and it changed my mind about a lot of things,” Parton said in a recent appearance on “Mr. Nashville Talks.” ”

“I intend to be on Broadway one day, but I’re thinking now that I might be able to make my life story a feature,” she said. “Maybe even a musical feature, so we’re talking about that.”

The legendary singer has some thoughts on who could play her.

“I love Kristin Chenoweth,” Parton said. “She’s just amazing.”

There may also be opportunities for other actresses, Parton said.

“We should probably have – as long as my career has been – as a little Dolly and one between Dolly and then the older one,” she said.

Parton is currently promoting his first novel, “Run, Rose, Run,” co-authored with author James Patterson.
