With a looping animation by Minnie Mouse, Disney Music has transformed some of their classic songs – like Toy Story’s “You’ve Got A Friend In Me” and Frozen 2’s “Into the Unknown” – into lo-fi hip-hop beats to relax and study to.

Disney music has gone into chill mode. The company has released a lo-fi hip-hop instrumental album Disney Lofi Minnie: Focusturns some of their nostalgic works as Toy Story’s “You have a friend in me” and Frozen 2s “Into the Unknown” for ambient covers. The album was released last Friday and went viral with 10 tracks with a playing time of just 24 minutes.

Featuring an animation by Minnie Mouse studying at her desk – and a nearby poster of Powerline from the 1995 film A silly movie – the lo-fi songs are shown in an accompanying YouTube playlist. Mashable points out that the animation clearly draws inspiration from the YouTube channel Lofi Girl with a long playlist “lofi hip hop radio – beats to relax / study to”.

Disney Lofi Minnie: Focus is available on select streaming services, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. Contributors include Little cat, Philanthropistand Crinosewith each instrumental track produced by another artist.

“What attracted us to lo-fi is the ability to recreate our songs in a whole new way, combining the soothing benefits of lo-fi with the wonder and nostalgia that Disney has to offer,” the company said in a declaration. “Lo-fi and Disney are both a great source of comfort, so the two are a perfect match.”
