Jurassic World Dominion will introduce a new dinosaur who will act as the villain in this final part of the new Jurassic trilogy, and director Colin Trevorrow compares it to the one movie and cartoon villain who stands above them all.

Called Giganotosaurus, or Giga, Trevorrow insinuates that this latest prehistoric villain is bigger than Indominus Rex, more deadly than Indoraptor, and so cunning that it stands tall with The Clown Prince of Crime in Gotham itself in a way.
“I wanted something that felt like the Joker,” Trevorrow said in an exclusive with empire goes behind the scenes at Dominion. “It just wants to see the world burn.”
It is not proven whether dinosaurs know the difference between good and evil or can rejoice in doing the latter, but should that be the case in the Giga’s primordial brain, he will have to go through the one-and-only T-Rex to enjoy watching some flickering embers.
New high-resolution images released by Empire, which you can find in the tweet below, show the beginning of their confrontation.

Like Rex, Giga is a true dinosaur and not genetically engineered from scratch by InGen. In fact, he in Dominion is not at all a product of their efforts. Giga was cloned from a sample preserved in amber by a rival company we have not seen for years.
The name BioSyn may sound familiar to longtime sharp-eyed fans of Jurassic Park. It was they who implanted Dennis Nedry in the Park to spy, sabotage and collect embryos, which he did in vain. Well, they’re back.
“BioSyn was awarded the contract to house the dinosaurs that have been captured around the world through various governments,” Trevorrow explained. “They claim it is a research facility where they can study the animals’ pharmaceutical values. But there are other things going on.”

He added a “very ambitious and forward-thinking young man,” played by Mauritanian actor Mamoudou Athie, will emerge from BioSyn and tease either a new human enemy with his own agenda or the series’ next John Hammond.
Details about him are sparse, but his true nature should be revealed when Jurassic World Dominion hits theaters on June 10th.
Until then, fan art of character models Sebastien Evrard – with a little help from Photoshop – gives us our clearest glimpse of Giganotosaurus in all its frightening glory.
