Comedy Burlesque in Bamboozle Room

Located in the notoriously colorful and historic Kings Cross nightlife district, Bamboozle Room will transport you to a different time and place. Get a taste of risky vintage glamor in this hidden gem with weekly burlesque, comedy and cabaret dinner shows.

The Bamboozle Room is a whole fantasy in itself with ritzy flapping energy and Great Gatsby-like style. The immersive charm is lit from the moment you step inside. You will feel like you have stepped back in a bygone era – just ignore the fact that you received an SMS with directions to the place earlier in the day and there is a QR code that needs to be scanned on the table to keep the drinks flowing .

Currently exhibited every Friday, Saturday and Sunday night Talk and Tease: Comedy Burlesquea light-hearted variety that is a bit risky with lots of laughs. The evening features a mix of cheeky and unique burlesque solo acts and stand-up comedy, all presented by a whimsical MC.

The atmosphere is ripped straight from KitKatClub – Weimar-era Berlin meets the geographically patterned rug that would be right at home at the Stanley Hotel while sipping, sipping, giggling and blushing through the evening.

Throughout the night you will be kept fed and watered with a light and tasty à la carte two-course menu (do not expect thick chips and pub grub even though there is a pub downstairs) and an extensive drinks list with some cocktails curated with specific era appropriate flair. The Bamboozle Room brings the fun, the funny, the sexy, a little bit oh-là-là and a little bit weird and wraps it in a thoroughly charming package – complete with a selfie-up on a crescent moon with a charming face , which looks like it belongs in a silent film.

It’s curious to figure out that this hidden vintage-style cabaret gem was conceived by former punk rock frontman and surfer filmmaker Tim Rowland, who co-founded it in 2016, but we’re grateful to be part of the secret.

Talk and tease runs Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening, doors at. 18.45 for a start at 19.00. Dinner and show packages range from $ 120- $ 180, and there are a limited number of tickets for the show for only $ 75. Check availability and book in here.
