
Canary Wharf’s legendary Comedy Club returns on Friday, April 1 with a critically acclaimed line-up going on stage. Head over to East Wintergarden for a night of laughter and fun from the most popular comics, including Milton Jones, Terry Alderton and Shaparak Khorsandi, composed by the self-proclaimed Felicity Ward.
The event will suitably take place on April Fools’ Day, with tickets available for purchase in advance or at the door for just £ 16, subject to availability. The doors open from kl. 18.15, prior to a start at 19:00, giving guests time to buy drinks at the bar before sitting down.
About the comedians
One-liner king Milton Jones is a regular on Mock the Week (BBC2), has appeared in Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC1), Live at the Apollo (BBC1), and has been headlined in Dave’s One Night Stand (DAVE). In 2011, Milton’s radio program won a silver Sony Award, as well as winning the Chortle Headliner of the Year for his stand up. His radio program was also nominated for a Writers Guild Award in 2012, and he has just completed his eleventh series on Radio 4.
Terry Alderton is one of the most exciting comedians to appear regularly across the globe and win the Strange Award. His TV stand-up credits include Live At The Apollo (BBC), Dave’s One Night Stand (DAVE), Comedy Road Show (BBC), The Stand Up Show (BBC) and Live At The Comedy Store (Comedy Central). He has also written and appeared in three series of his BBC Radio 4 show Terry Alderton’s All Crazy Now.
Shaparak Khorsandi established himself as one of the country’s best comedians
in 2006 with his sold-out Edinburgh show, Asylum Speaker. In typical Shappi style, this show told the story of how her family was forced to flee Iran and get asylum in the UK. Her father’s popularity as a satirist attacking the regime has ensured that they cannot return to Iran. As Shaparak says, “there is obvious freedom of speech in Iran, but a little freedom after you have spoken”. Shaparak’s career has taken her to all corners of the world, she has appeared in countless TV and radio programs including Mock The Week, 8 Out Of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You, QI, Just a Minute and other flagship radio 4 programs.
Growing up from a carob pod in a sunny Central Coast National Park, Felicity Ward is a multi-award-winning comedian, actor and writer who has toured his award-winning, sold-out shows around the world and won the hearts of audiences and critics alike. she walks. Felicity has performed at Spicks and Specks, The Ronnie Johns Half Hour, Good News Week, Talking About Your Generation, Thank God You’re Here, The Librarians, The Project and Ronny Chieng: International Student along with several appearances at the MICF Oxfam Gala and MICF Comedy All Stars.
