Located on Church Street in the Salford town, Silverlane Developments’ 272-apartment project features a 23-storey tower.
BCEGI is now on site delivering the £45m scheme, aimed at servicing the demand for rental accommodation in this part of the borough
“Eccles historically has a very strong rental market, but it has a noticeable shortage of new build developments,” said Steve Carnes, managing director of Silverlane.
“Church Street Place will provide a new quality high-rise development, similar to the new developments in Salford Quays, Media City and Manchester city centre but more reasonable in terms of its price point.”
The Church Street scheme was designed by Jeffrey Bell Architects and has been in the works for almost three years.
Silverlane secured planning permission for the project in December 2019. The approved application also includes more than 7,300 sq ft of commercial space.
Church Street Place is one of two schemes the developer is bringing forward in Eccles. Earlier this year, Place North West revealed plans were being worked up for a 25-storey scheme on the site of the former Vauxhall garage on the corner of Albert Street and Peel Street.
