Andy Cohen says ‘RHONY’ is returning with two new cast

Messy!

RHONY stinks now, here’s even more RHONY. This is the confusing strategy that Bravo has made after a really sad 13th season of Real Housewives in New York City. Seriously, it was so bad that it did not even be reunited. In an interview with VarietyAndy Cohen revealed that the mothership series will be recast and restarted with a brand new “group of women who are real friends and who have different backgrounds, races and religions.” It really does not sound like a bad idea, given the two biggest problems with the show: an extremely white cast that feels more like a group of colleagues who politely tolerate each other than an organic group of friends, and the continued presence of Certified Monster Ramona Singer.

But next to this much-needed shakeup, Cohen said there will be one, too second RHONY series consisting of previous cast members. Your first question may be, “Who’s coming back?” (Cohen would not say that, but he joked that Jill Zarin would be the first to call.) My first question is, “Why ?????” We already have an opportunity for former housewives to get back in the fold. It is called Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip and it’s actually really good. We know Dorinda Medley will be hosting next season off RHUGT at Blue Stone Manor, with Jill Zarin on the tour. This is where I want to see my former Housewives: a fourth wall-breaking bacchanal. This new show – which Cohen says does not have a title yet, but is referred to as “RHONY: Throwback“or”RHONY: Arv”- sounds more like RHONYits own version of Malignant murder tumor.

Still, it hopefully means at least that Ramona Singer will be sent back to hell Mar-a-Lago, to which she belongs.
