Neil Gaiman confirms that a behind-the-scenes image of an Anansi Boys filming location reveals “at least one” Good Omens Easter egg for the miniseries.
An image behind the scenes from the limited series editing of Anansi boys teased a possible Easter egg connection to another Prime Video series based on the work of author Neil Gaiman.
The photo, taken by Stuart Arnott and shared on Tumblr, was taken along Canning Street in Edinburgh, Scotland. The picture shows a London double-decker bus with an advertisement for a West End “bullet catch” stage show, which appears to play Michael Sheen in the lead role, who portrays the angel Aziraphale on Good alerts. Gaiman responded to the photo with confirmation of that Anansi boys will have “at least one” Good alerts Easter eggs.
While Good alerts officially completed filming for season 2 in March 2022. Anansi boyson the other hand, recently added two new actors to its growing cast, with Amarah-Jae St. Aubyn and Grace Saif in the roles of the female lead roles Rosie Noah and Detective Constable Daisy Day, respectively, in the adaptation of Gaiman’s 2005 novel.
Anansi boys tells the story of “Fat” Charlie Nancy, a seemingly normal Londoner with a dull life who discovers that his embarrassing, alienated and recently deceased father was actually Anansi, the African trickster god of stories. At the same time, Charlie also hears about his twin brother, Spider, who inherited their father’s godly powers and was addicted to mischief. Spider drags Charlie into a dangerous and mysterious adventure where he dives into gods and legacy.
Anansi boys is a spinoff / sequel to Gaiman’s novel American gods, who prominently highlighted Anansi as one of the various deities who helped the main character Shadow Moon. While Starz TV adaptation of American gods highlighted Orlando Jones as Anansi, aka. Mr. Nancy, Anansi boys has cast Delroy Lindo in the role.
Anansi boys received an order for six episodes of Prime Video in July 2021 with no current plans for additional seasons. “Anansi boys began around 1996, from a conversation I had with Lenny Henry about writing a story that was diverse and part of the culture we both loved, “Gaiman said when the show was first announced.”Anansi boys since a TV series has been a long time coming – I first started working with Endor and Red to make it over a decade ago … We are trying to make a new kind of show with Anansi Boys, and to break the ground with it to do something that celebrates and welcomes diversity both in front of and behind the camera. Anansi boysas well as the second season of Good alertsis set to stream on Prime Video and does not yet have release dates.
