Police Chief Chris Skinner told reporters early Saturday morning that a victim is in critical condition after “certainly one of the most notable shootings we’ve had in the city of Eugene.”

That person had surgery, he said. He did not know the status of the others who were shot.

The shooting took place during a Lil Bean and Zay Bang show, police said.

“At 9:29 p.m., reports of multiple gunfire at WOW Hall, 219 W. 8th Avenue. EPD and multiple law enforcement agencies responded, along with Eugene Springfield Fire,” the police tweeted.

Skinner asked any witnesses with video or audio of the incident to help police.

“We need people who feel comfortable and bring that up so we can better understand what happened and better identify our suspect,” he said. “All we know at this point is that we have a man in a hoodie who was seen heading west…right after the shooting.”

WOW Hall Interim Executive Director Deb Maher and Board Chairman Jaci Guerena posted a statement at: the site’s website and called the shooting “unprecedented.”

“Not much information is available at the moment, but we have heard gunshots in the parking lot at the back. The motives are not yet known. We do know that some people were injured, but we do not know how serious the injuries are and we want to not that to speculate,” the statement said.
