Tunisian authorities on Wednesday night approved a two-week curfew and ban on gatherings, with the aim of fighting a resurgence of the “Kovid-1” epidemic.

The government’s presidency said in a statement published on its official Facebook page, “It was decided to ban visits from 10:00 pm (21.00 GMT) to 5:00 am (04.00 GMT). Authorities will adopt an indicator of the percentage of injuries to approve the procedure.”

The statement added, “All demonstrations that are open to public participation or attendance are also postponed or canceled, whether in open or closed spaces.”

These procedures take effect on Thursday, for a period of two weeks, subject to renewal, and are reviewed by the Ministry of Health based on the development of the country’s epidemic situation.
