After a 1-0 defeat to Mali in the Africa Cup of Nations on Wednesday, the Tunisian national team has canceled a light training session in Cameroon to relieve fatigue due to security concerns, local media reported.

An armed group commander and a human rights lawyer said on Wednesday that separatist rebels had killed a soldier during an attack on Bue in western Cameroon and hosted four Nation Cup teams, including Tunisia.

Tunisian media reported that Cameroonian authorities requested the cancellation of Tunisian training in Bouay, which had seen numerous clashes between the army and rebels and received Group F teams, including Mali, Gambia and Mauritania.

Tunisia lost 1-0 to Mali after a chaotic end, with the referee blowing the final whistle twice before the end of the original time amid Tunisia’s objections.

The conflict in Cameroon has killed at least 3,000 people and forced one million to flee.

Both separatists and government forces have been accused of abusing civilians.
