Toronto Mayor John Tory, Prime Minister Doug Ford, Health Secretary Christine Elliott and Solicitor General Sylvia Jones will visit the clinic Wednesday afternoon.

The zoo itself is currently closed. It closed temporarily earlier this month after stricter public health measures came into effect.

While the outdoor area could remain open under current rules, the zoo said it chose to close to protect the health of staff, customers and animals.

The organization said it wants to ensure critical staff levels for animal care and infrastructure maintenance.

Officials noted that animals will not be visible to those who are going to get a booster shot at the zoo.
