Robinhood Markets Inc. plans to allow most employees to work remotely permanently, embracing a work-from-home policy that started with the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Menlo Park, California-based company will not require staff to go to offices regularly, according to a statement Wednesday. Employees still have access to offices.

The Covid-19 pandemic has prompted companies from Wall Street to Silicon Valley to rethink the need for offices. While securities firms and banks have mainly encouraged employees to return, some tech companies have been more flexible. Earlier this week, Facebook mother Meta Platforms Inc. plans to bring employees back to offices until March, and will need boosters for those who return.

Robinhood said limited exceptions apply to the new plan, as some teams may be required to live within a commute of an office for legal or business reasons.
