Man shot dead by relative in Brentwood: police

BRENWOOD, Calif. (KRON) — Brentwood police said a man was fatally shot by a family member on Sunday after a disturbance.

At about 4:23 p.m. on Jan. 9, officers received reports of shots fired at an apartment complex in block 160 of Sycamore Ave.

Police arrived and found a 43-year-old man with gunshot wounds outside.

Investigators determined that the man was shot during a family quarrel. He was later pronounced dead.

Authorities say the gunman was a relative and was arrested.

Police recovered the weapon, but the motive has not yet been determined.

At this time, the police do not assume any other suspects.

There is no threat to public safety, police said.
