The unit block on Einsley Avenue in Reed has been evacuated due to a cooking fire with emergency services at the scene. An ACT emergency services agency said the fire broke out in a kitchen on the ground floor of a unit block. A small fire broke out while a man was cooking on the stove. All residents of the unit block were evacuated and firefighters immediately put out the blaze. Hazmat teams are currently conducting ventilator and safety tests on the building.
