(CBS DETROIT) – A Jackson County man was “overwhelmed in the best way” after winning $1 million on the Michigan Lottery’s instant game Millionaire Maker II.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Marathon gas station at 4115 Lansing Avenue in Jackson.
“I like playing the Millionaire Maker II game as the lowest prize you can win is $40,” said the 66-year-old player. “I bought a ticket and didn’t win anything with it, so I decided to buy another one. When I scratched the ticket and saw that I won $1 million I was so blown away, but in the best way!
The player, who chose to remain anonymous, visited the Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim his prize, and he decided to collect his prize of approximately $634,000 in one go.
He plans to travel, invest and pay bills with his winnings.
Players have won over $23 million with Millionaire Maker II, which launched in September. The price of a ticket is $20, and winners can win prizes ranging from $40 to $1 million.
