Jacqui Lambie says she changed phone number after accusing One Nation of social media leak

independent senator Jacqui Lambie has claimed she had to change her personal phone number after accusing One Nation of leaking it on social media.

“I know my number has been out there and I understand that, but that’s no excuse in the current political climate to go to your Facebook page and post the comments posted there and then put my number on top,” she said today.

“You know what upsets me even more is people want to leave their messages or whatever — but they’re such cowards, they come in with no caller ID.”

The office of One Nation Senator Malcolm Roberts denied having “leaked” Senator Lambie’s number after hammering out the party’s bill to drop vaccine mandates, claiming she posted it herself on social media.

The phone number, which appeared in a screenshot of a Tasmanian voter, has since been removed from the original message on Senator Roberts’ page.

During his Senate address this week, Senator Lambie called on Senator Roberts to apologize.

“It goes without saying that it is completely unacceptable to leak the personal contact information of other senators to the public just because you don’t like what they say,” she said.

Senator Lambie took the spotlight this week, launching yet another high-profile attack on the coalition and Prime Minister Scott Morrison over the mooted federal ICAC.

She told Today she “never believed” Mr Morrison was a “leader”.

“The nudge I’m getting in Tasmania is they’re not talking about this, they’re talking about the lack of confidence,” she said.

“This country runs on loyalty and trust, that’s the way it is, the Australian way. People don’t feel that.”

She said she had known great leaders when she served in the military.

“If you look at them compared to what I’ve seen here so far, it’s not very impressive,” she said.
