Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) introduces a measure to prevent taxpayers’ money from being spent on payments to illegal immigrants arising from lawsuits against the federal government.

Boebert said in a pronunciation:

In Biden’s America, it’s better to be a criminal than a law enforcement officer. Border Patrol agents may be fired because of Biden’s vaccine mandate for federal workers, but illegal aliens get a free ticket to our country and can receive a check for $450,000.

In contrast, the highest-paid border police officers earn less than half the annual salary after 20 years of service. I’ve had enough of the madness of the Biden regime, so I’ve introduced the We’re Not Paying You to Break Our Laws Act to restore mental health and the rule of law. We should put the Americans first, not the criminals!

Boebert introduced the “We’re not paying you to break our laws” on Monday after the… Wall Street Journal reported last month the Biden administration was in talks to give $450,000 to immigrant families separated under Trump.

Although President Biden told to reporters these payments “will not happen,” Biden’s deputy press secretary declined his comments. The Deputy Press Secretary said“The President is completely at ease with the Justice Department reaching a settlement with the individuals and families currently suing the United States government.”

“Pay $450,000 US taxpayers $$ to every illegal immigrant segregated at the border? No way,” Boebert tweeted.

Boebert’s one-page bill ensures that no US Treasury funds would be used to settle claims illegal immigrants segregated under the Trump administration have against the federal government.

The accounts text is reading:

No amounts from the Treasury may be made available for the payment of a settlement agreement filed with the United States District Court for the District of Arizona in AIIL v. Sessions, 4:19-CV-00481, or any substantially similar civil suit instituted by any person as a result of an action taken to enforce the Attorney General’s memorandum entitled “Zero Tolerance for Violations Under 8 USC §1325(a)” dated April 6, 2018.

Representatives Duncan (R-SC), Perry (R-PA), Norman (R-SC), Tiffany (R-WI), Harris (R-MD), Gohmert (R-TX), Weber (R-TX), and Biggs (R-AZ) co-sponsored Boebert’s legislation.
