Terrence “Bud” Crawford and “Showtime” Shawn Porter Demonstration of stupidity On Saturday night in Las Vegas, it was even more billing. Crawford retained his WBO Welterweight Championship with a 10th round TKO over Porter. But what happened as a result of the bout could pave the way for a mega-battle that has been under construction for years.
Business grew after Crawford’s victory when he learned that Errol Spence Jr. was in the building during his fight. Crawford proceeded to call Spence – again – and accused the IBF and WBC Welterweight champ of hiding their tails from him in the sun. That is no less than the words of battle, and we know that Spence was listening. The biggest disappointment was that the Spaniards were already out of the field, shaking their heads after Porter’s Crawford defeat.
But of course, that’s all there is to it Agreement on boxing politics Between promoters (PBC and top class) and fighters. At this point, the lion’s share of the blame lies on Spence’s shoulders, and many spectators feel that he is behind the fight between the top welterweight fighters in the game.
During a post-fight press conference, Crawford announced that as he was now an independent agent, he would part ways with Bob Aram and top-class boxers. Terrence made the announcement while sitting next to Arum, noting that the top tier could not find him in the ring under the Spanish umbrella and did not see how they could do it when he was an independent agent.
The ball appears on the Spanish court at this point if this fight ever happens. Crawford is free to go anywhere and fight with anyone he wants after sending Porter Packing on Saturday night, but it is clear that the only fight that really makes him happy is with Spence. And since last night’s defeat to Crawford, Porter has announced his retirement from the game. I doubt it sticks, but we’ll see what happens.
W.E will eventually get this big fight between the two excellent welterweights from Crawford and Spain, but This will not happen unless one or both are at the top of their game. We’ve seen it many times in boxing, from Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Money Pacquiao to Mike Tyson-Lennox Lewis. Boxing keeps the fans waiting for the biggest fight, then gives them to us if they don’t mind. I think we have to keep the hope alive and dream of this mega match.
