Selena Gomez’s mother Mandy Teefey survived double pneumonia

Selena Gomez’s mother, Mandy Teefey, survived a near-fatal case of double pneumonia thanks to “miracle doctors.”

“I was told I had days to live,” Teefey, 45, revealed via Instagram this weekend pictures of themselves in the hospital as she fought for her life.

“I had miracle Drs [sic] and love from my family and friends to keep me going,” she added. “I have fought. the Drs [sic] fought and I was one of the few who survived.”

Teefey shared details of her health scare after being bombarded with “personal attacks” regarding her physical appearance in a photoshoot for Entrepreneur magazine that was released on November 18.

“I gained 60 pounds plus inflammation from the infection,” she revealed, adding, “I didn’t feel like being at a photo shoot.”

Teefey says her drastically changed appearance is due to the infection that nearly killed her.

Teefey also explained that she had only been out of the hospital for a little over two weeks at the time of the shoot, in which she was wearing a leather skirt and black turtleneck sweater.

Despite having just survived a life-threatening illness, Teefey seemed vibrant and happy in a behind-the-scenes video of the photoshoot she shared on Instagram.

Teefey told her supporters that despite the constant comments about her weight gain, she is simply grateful that she is still alive.

“I’m healthy and I’ll work on myself at my pace,” she said. “It’s a wonder I’m here and could be careless if that means I’m a 16 instead of an 8.”

Teefey and Gomez’s appearance on the cover of Entrepreneur was at promote their upcoming “Wondermind”, a “mental fitness ecosystem” created by the mother-daughter duo and founder of The Newsette, Daniella Pierson.

Gomez, 29, has not yet publicly commented on her mother’s near-fatal illness.
