Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon has resumed skating during his recovery from a lower body injury, which would see him missing three weeks.
MacKinnon, who sustained his injury on Nov. 6 in Columbus, skated in a red non-contact jersey with defender Bo Byram and forward Martin Kaut for Colorado’s full practice on Sunday. MacKinnon seemed to be skating and shooting at full speed.
The Avs will begin Monday with a two-game homestand against the Ottawa Senators, whose last three games have been postponed due to a COVID shutdown. Colorado will face the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday. MacKinnon may be available Friday in Dallas or Saturday at home against Nashville.
Avs coach Jared Bednar goes into the week with 192 wins with the club, one shy of tying Bob Hartley for the record.
