Deadly crash: Amazon employee hit and killed near Staten Island fulfillment center

BLOOMFIELD, Staten Island (WABC) — An Amazon Fulfillment Center employee on Staten Island was hit by a car late Saturday night near the facility and killed.

According to a preliminary police investigation, the 24-year-old woman was trying to cross 5th Street in the Bloomfield section when she was hit by a Honda Accord.

The victim was taken to Richmond University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

It is not clear whether she arrived at work or left.

Police said the 19-year-old female driver, who remained at the scene, did not have a driver’s license.

The investigation is ongoing and there are no arrests or subpoenas at this time.
