New Delhi – AFP

The director of the hospital said on Sunday that a man from India, who was pronounced dead in a traffic accident, was still alive and in critical condition after spending the night in a cold room of the hospital. Shrikesh Kumar, 45, was taken to a private clinic after being hit by a motorcycle in Moradabad, east of New Delhi.
Upon arrival at the clinic, doctors pronounced Kumar dead and he was taken to a public hospital for postmortem on Friday. The hospital’s medical director Rajendra Kumar said in a statement: “The emergency doctor examined him and found no signs of life, so he was pronounced dead.” The body was kept in a cold room until the family arrived six hours later.
The hospital’s director added: “When the police and his family’s team arrived to begin the administrative process for the postmortem, he was found alive. The men are still in a coma.
The hospital director commented, “What a miracle.” The cause of the misdiagnosis is still under investigation.
