1 dead, 2 hospitalized after Sumner Tunnel single-vehicle accident – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BOSTON (WHDH) — Massachusetts state police are investigating a single-vehicle accident in the Sumner Tunnel that left one dead and two people hospitalized Sunday morning.

Massachusetts State Police said officers responding to a reported crash on the driveway leading from the Sumner Tunnel to Storrow Drive at about 3:20 a.m. found three people in the car with serious injuries.

The driver, a 24-year-old man from Northampton, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passengers, an 18-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, were taken to Massachusetts General Hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

No additional information was immediately available.
