1-Year-Old Boy Shot Between 3 People Near Walgreens In Greater Grand Crossing: Police

CHICAGO — A 1-year-old boy was one of three people shot and killed Thursday afternoon near a Walgreens on the 7500 block of South State Street, according to Chicago police.

Chicago fire officials said the boy was struck by gunfire at about 1:40 p.m. near a Walgreens in the city’s Greater Grand Crossing community area.

It is unknown where the boy was shot. He was transported to Comer Children’s Hospital in stable condition.

Police said two adults were also shot in the incident and taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition. Police added that this is not an active gunman situation.

There is currently no further information.
