After West Coast agreed to be nominated for the Middle East draft, first-round draft pick Jarod Garlett could be about to throw a lifeline.
According to a report in Western Australia On Saturday, Eagle’s phone call persuaded the former Blue and Sun to join more than 50,000 players to nominate for the June 2 draft.
The 25-year-old was picked along with Pick 114 in the 201 Pick National Draft, playing 1 17 games in two years for the Gold Coast.
After being listed, he joined Carlton with a late pick in the 2012 draft and went on to feature for the club for the first time in two seasons.
Garlett is currently a local footballer in Perth for Railways in the Great Northern Football League, kicking 11 goals in four games.
According to the report, he is preparing to present the draft for the WAFL side of the West Coast next Wednesday mid-session this weekend.
