When the Kovid-1p epidemic ends, there will be no lack of careful reflection and lessons learned for public health officials (and communicators). But one major takeaway needs our attention right now: COVID is affecting people at an unproven commercial rate of color.
System-level changes are needed to address this problem – and so we were excited to hear about the new Biden-Harris COVID-19 Health Equity Task Force. Founded by President Biden Executive order to ensure a fair epidemic response and recovery, Task Force recommends helping to address health inequalities related to COVID-1P And Prevent these inequalities in the future.
(While the task force is brand new, it is closing from a similar beginning Sending COVID-19 vaccines directly to federally qualified health centers – Security net providers that treat the underride population.)
According to the executive order, members of the task force come from inside and outside the federal government and will include people who have experienced health inequalities in their communities – just as women are assigned to operate. Yes, it is The task force was led by Dr. Marcella Nunez-Smith will do, An associate professor of internal medicine, public health, and management at Yale University – and we’re just her.
