Interval training burns more calories than steady speed moderate intensity exercises
A review of the study suggested that a combination of different types of intense exercise interfered with shorter recovery periods that helped individuals lose more weight than static dynamic activity on an exercise bike or treadmill. The data were examined from studies1 in which weight loss results were compared after at least a week or so of intermittent training or steady speed moderate exercise, such as walking, cycling or jogging.
Both types of exercise lead to weight loss for all people as well as body fat loss. But more weight can be lost as a result of interval training: average 3.5. 3.5 lbs (1.88 kg) with steady speed moderate intensity exercise 2. Compared to 2.5 pounds (1.113 kg).
Compared to paced min steady speed medium intensity exercises, the duration of interval training sessions averaged 228 minutes and 1 minute minutes for sprint interval sessions. The four minute intense exercise was alternated with the most commonly used high intensity interval workout with minutes minute recovery. The total number of participants in all studies was 1,115 and the study lasted from 4 to 1 week.
One hour of moderate density aerobic exercise is recommended by as many exercise guidelines as to prevent weight loss or light weight loss. The advice for obese people is to exercise more than an hour a day to lose those extra pounds of body weight.
It is suspected that intermittent training can lead to more weight loss as it triggers the body to burn more fat in 24 hours after exercise because muscles use up all of their energy reserves that come from carbohydrates when exercising. Although not much fat is burned in a short year of interval training exercises, long workouts help to achieve similar results for fat loss. The combination of intensive interval training and steady speed moderate intensity exercise would be the ideal method for weight loss.
