Amazon is setting up ‘personal interactive kiosks’ at forecasting centers to promote mindfulness practices

Take the editor: Amazon has faced a backlash in recent months for describing some of them as ethical issues related to the workplace. That makes it an easy goal to have fun at the company, and despite what might be great with AmaZen stations, few are doing what they do on social media.

As part of a larger health and safety program called Workingwell announced earlier this month, Amazon is bringing out “personal interactive kiosks” at its facility.

In outline Amazon’s announcement, AmaZen is designed to guide employees through mindfulness exercises while at work. Employees can visit AmaZen stations and watch short videos featuring quiet scenes with good activities, positive affirmations, sounds and guided medications.

“Self-care is important, and Amazon gives me the opportunity to take the time to stop and re-group which helps me get better at work,” said Katie Miller, an employee at the Amazon Supply Center in Ohio.

Miller added, “When I take that time, I come back to more focused work, and it has a lasting effect on the rest of my day,” Miller added.

Amazon’s press release didn’t go into much detail, but by studying the photos of the booths making the round booths on news sites, I was able to find little information in it.

Zenboot mentions Uber, Grammar, Pandora, Shipify and Dropbox on its list of “happy customers”. In particular, Amazon is not on that list.
