The AFL today confirmed the final list of eligible players who have been nominated for the 2021 NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft.
Nomination period closes at 5:00 a.m. AEST on Tuesday, Tuesday, May 25, 2021. 202 players nominated in all major football leagues across Australia.

The 2021 NAB AFL Mid Season Rookie Draft will be implemented on a virtual broadcast live and offline.com. Through the official AFL Live app, thanks to Telstra, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 6: 0 pm AEST. The draft will officially start at 00:00 pm.
The 2021 NAB AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft will be conducted within the ARC, with RMIT University serving as the central hub for draft selection for the AFL Football Operations Team, including confirmed clubs.
Shared by NAB, the coverage presents each draft pick as well as all the analysis and key interviews with the drafts and club officials. The NAB AFL mid-season rookie draft broadcast will run on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 from 6.30pm to AEST.
The 2021 NAB AFL mid-season rookie draft follows all Victorian government protocols.
The AFL can confirm that 1R rookie list spots are currently available through all AFL clubs. AFL clubs until 5:00 AEST on Tuesday, June 1 to make any further changes to their list.
AFL clubs that choose to participate in the NAB will be selected in the reverse round of the AFL mid-season rookie draft at the end of the set.

Eligible players include:
- A player who was recently nominated for the NAB AFL National Draft.
PLEASE NOTE: A player who was nominated for a draft and was not selected at the time of the draft and who is available for all clubs committed as a 1-year-old Northern or NGA Academy player for next year if they must be nominated for a NAB AFL mid-season rookie. Draft
- A player who has previously been on a club’s list (no need to be nominated for the most recent draft) refers to the following situation:
A listed player
PLEASE NOTE: A player listed by a club cannot be re-examined by the same club in a club AFL mid-season rookie draft immediately after their distist until they have been nominated for a recent draft.
A retired player and / or a player who has listed himself and has not been on the AFL list for a year or more. For example, a player who retires in 2020 will not be able to qualify for the rookie draft in the 2021 NAB AFL mid-season.
Players 1 to 18 years of age or younger are not eligible to be selected.
Any player who does not meet the above criteria may be represented by AFL Talent Pathway, their AFLPA accredited agent or the player himself and will be considered for exemption.
State League Participation:
Players selected in the 2021 Mid-Season Rookie Draft who live in their home state are subject to the following:
- They will not be allowed to play against their original club unless all other teams agree.
- Players have the right to return to their home club to participate in the finals if their services are no longer required at their AFL club.
