But what if you want to get something new out of Google Photos? That’s really a very simple task. If you just want to take some photos, we will show you how.
Once you’ve downloaded all your photos from Google, you can delete everything there – or leave it as an online backup and move to another service. If you decide to delete, we strongly recommend that you keep two backups of all your photos before deleting your Google Photos Library.

Download each photo from Google Photos
To get everything from Google Photos, Log in to the service And click the Settings cog icon in the upper right corner. On the next screen, scroll down Export your data, Click the arrow at the bottom of that section, and then click Backup Link as picture here.

Getting there via Photos, as opposed to going directly to Takeout, means that all your stuff will be selected in Google Photos, but there will be no data from your Google Account. The next page shows the default settings for exporting your data, such as the file type for your collection and the size of each collection file. By default, each archive folder will be compressed into a zip folder, but you can also choose the TGZ format if you wish. It is also possible to enlarge your archived zip files if you wish.
Once you’ve sorted all your favorite sets, click Create export. All you have to do now is wait. Google predicts how long the export will take. Depending on the size of your photo collection it may be a few hours or a few days.
Download selected images from Google Photos
If you want to download some selected photos, the process is also very simple. Start by hovering over the image you want to select, and then click the check mark in the upper left corner of the image. This puts Google Photos in select mode, from there repeat the process for other photos you just want to download. If you want to download photos from the whole day, click on the check mark next to the date.
Once you’ve selected all the photos you want, hit Shift + D Click and select the three vertical dots on your keyboard or at the top right Download. Next, click Save When the File Explorer window appears, and you’re all set. Your photos will be downloaded as a jeep collection with the bulk takeout option.
